Among yesterday’s front pages was a data visualisation which, at first glance, was one of the most effective I’ve ever seen: the Independent had made an infographic showing yesterday’s £6bn budget cuts in context - as a fraction of a debt mountain.

Disclosures

James has a habit of writing about open government and transparency on MPs’ expenses and lobbying. So in order to avoid hypocrisy, here’s James’s disclosure record.

Unfortunately, it’s dull. He owns no shares - directly or indirectly - and has no pension plan. His bank account’s with HSBC (so phishers sending emails from “Abbey National” should know better than to waste their time). He owns no assets worth a damn.
